Pretoria, 14 March 2017 – In celebration of the National Women’s Month, the Philippine Embassy in Pretoria conducted an information seminar on the Philippines’ Magna Carta of Women (MCW) for its Embassy personnel on March 13, 2017.
The seminar aimed to equip Embassy personnel with knowledge about the essential features of the MCW and it also reiterated the Department and the Embassy’s commitment to provide quality service to all clients in accordance with applicable laws. The seminar was in consonance with the President’s 2016 State of the Nation Address directing the full implementation of the MCW in all government offices.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Post’s Ambassador Joseph Gerard B. Angeles lauded the Embassy personnel’s firm dedication to promoting gender and development and encouraged the team to continue in its conduct of service delivery which is sensitive to the clients’ needs and bias-free.
The seminar was delivered by Post’s Gender Focal Person (GFP) Vice Consul Marie Cris Chieng with the assistance of Ms. Avela Semaña, Post’s Alternate GFP. END.
