The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria led by Ambassador Noralyn Jubaira Baja held informal discussions with officials of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) handling South Africa’s bilateral relations with the Philippines on 16 September 2022.
Topics covered during the meeting included preparations for the 5th Philippines-South Africa Bilateral Consultative Forum, the Embassy’s upcoming chairmanship of the ASEAN-Pretoria Committee from January to June 2023, and other bilateral issues of mutual interest.
The consultations ended on a friendly and positive note, with both sides agreeing to meet regularly.
Joining the meeting were DIRCO Southeast Asia (SEA) Director Raymond Medhurst, SEA Deputy Director Anfra Ramalho Murteira, Assistant Director for the Philippines Cherease Botha, First Secretary Maurice Tiempo, and Attaché and Political Assistant Paul Vincent Fodra.
