The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria organized its first ever Seminar on Local Laws in the Southern African Region today, 3 December 2022 at the Lynnwood Conference Center, which was attended both physically and virtually by the Filipino community.
Resource persons Atty Jacobus Johannes Lessing of Contact Labour Pty Ltd, and Atty Charlene Eksteen of McTaggart Eksteen discussed labor laws and immigration laws, respectively.
Reflecting on the event, Amb Noralyn Jubaira Baja noted that the seminar was the Embassy's initiative to address concerns of fellow kababayans and familiarize participants with the relevant laws of the host government. Given the enthusiastic and positive response of kababayans to the seminar, the Embassy plans to organize another round of seminars on similar topics next year.
