The ASEAN-Pretoria Committee (APC) under the chairmanship of the Philippines, called on Western Cape Premier Mr. Alan Winde on 09 February 2023, during the week of South Africa’s State of the Nation Address in Cape Town.
The group had previously met virtually with Premier Winde in May 2022. The follow-up engagement, which was held in-person,provided an excellent opportunity for the APC members to learn about the development priorities and programs of the Western Cape province, with a view of further broadening and expanding the province’s engagement with the ASEAN region as a whole, and with individual ASEAN member countries in priority sectors such as trade and investment, science, energy, agriculture.
