Presidential honor guards bestow military honors to Ambassador Baja
During the ceremony, President Ramaphosa also received the credentials of seventeen (17) other heads of missions. Addressing the newly accredited Ambassadors and High Commissioners, he reiterated the commitment of the South African Government to work with bilateral partners in advancing sustainable peace and development; building a more democratic, just and equitable world order; ending poverty and closing the disparities in wealth, skills, resources, and access to education, health and social support; as well as promoting the centrality of multilateral institutions in managing global affairs and respect for international law and agreements.
First Secretary and Consul Maurice A. Tiempo accompanied the Ambassador during the ceremony.

Ambassador Baja is the 8th Philippine envoy to South Africa since the establishment of the countries’ diplomatic relations on 1 November 1993. She is also the Philippines’ first female Ambassador to serve in the country.
