The Philippine Embassy in Pretoria partnered with Stella Maris in their welfare visit to about 70 Filipino fishermen in Cape Town on 10 February 2024. The Filipinos are employed by foreign-owned fishing companies whose vessels are temporarily docked at the port in Cape Town.
The visit was facilitated by Stella Maris’ Fr. Rico Talisic and was organized for Embassy representatives to check on the conditions and to provide moral support for the fishermen.
